Terms of use

Plain language, because a parent shouldn't need a lawyer to set up a chore chart.

These terms cover your use of the Myntley app and this website. By creating an account you agree to them.

Who can use Myntley

A parent or legal guardian, aged 18 or over, creates the family account. Only that parent — or another parent they invite — may create accounts for children in their care, and by doing so they confirm they are authorised to consent on that child's behalf. Children use the service through accounts a parent creates and controls.

What the service is

Myntley records tasks, points, and rewards that your family defines. The points have no monetary value and are not redeemable for anything outside your own household's arrangements.

Allowance amounts are display-only

Any cash value, allowance balance, or “cash out” reward is a note for your family's reference. Myntley never holds, transfers, or processes money, is not a bank or payment service, and takes no responsibility for what any family does or does not pay each other.

Myntley Plus subscriptions

Myntley may offer an optional auto-renewing Plus subscription through Apple App Store or Google Play billing. The purchase screen and the store confirmation sheet show the current local price, billing period, and any trial before you confirm. Payment is charged to your store account. A trial converts to the selected paid plan unless cancelled before it ends, and the subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel before the next renewal date shown by the store. For a free or discounted Apple trial, Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want it to renew.

Manage or cancel renewal in your app-store subscription settings. Cancelling normally keeps Plus active through the paid-through date. Refund eligibility and billing disputes are handled under the applicable store's rules and local law. Use Restore purchases in the app after reinstalling or changing devices. One parent's active subscription unlocks Plus for the family.

If Plus ends, Myntley applies the current free-plan limits. Setup above a free limit is paused rather than deleted, and becomes available again after resubscribing. Deleting the app or your Myntley account does not automatically cancel a store subscription.

Reward links and purchases outside Myntley

A family member may attach a website to a reward idea. Product previews are suggestions, not endorsements or guarantees of price, availability, safety, or accuracy. Opening a link takes you to a third-party site. Myntley does not buy the item or form part of that sale; a parent remains responsible for deciding whether to visit or purchase anything.

Reminders and timers are not enforcement

Reminders and reward countdowns are notifications scheduled on your device. They can be missed, delayed, or suppressed by your operating system, and they cannot restrict what any app or device does. Don't rely on them for anything that matters to safety.

Your account

Keep your password and parent PIN to yourself, and choose PINs your children can't guess if the PIN is what stands between them and the settings. You're responsible for activity under your account, and for the content you enter — task and reward names are visible to everyone in your family, including children.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Myntley to harass or harm anyone, to attempt to access another family's data, to disrupt or probe the service beyond good-faith security research reported to us privately, or to break the law with it.

Beta software

Myntley is currently in beta. Features may change or be removed, and problems are likely. Keep anything you'd hate to lose recorded somewhere else too.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features. If we make a significant change to these terms we'll update the date above and, where it matters, tell you in the app.

Ending your use

You can delete a child's account or your own from inside the app at any time; see the privacy policy for what that removes. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you're a consumer you keep every right your local law gives you.
